The Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says there is no difference between the economy and digitalisation.
According to him, the two work hand in hand and therefore those who say digitalisation will not put food on the table of the people of Ghana should have a rethink of their position.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made this known when he spoke in an interview on Accra-based Peace FM.
“Digitization and Economic management are interlinked. There is no difference because they move together. Digitalisation is a tool that helps in speeding up the development process and helps in economic management. That is why I’ve always said that the poverty gap has always been a technology gap.
When you look at the Industrial revolutions, first we have water and steam, second electricity. So it’s like someone saying that the President who takes care of the economy so why is he talking about electricity. But if there is no electricity, industry will not work. In the same way third industrial revolution, electronics.
So when you say why has he left economy and is talking about electronics but if electronics and computing technology is not there, there is no economy and things will move at a snail pace. So anyone who claims the Vice President has relegated the Economy and is now focused on digitalisation, the person is doesn’t have an appreciation of what is going on.
