Terrifying Video Showing Nuclear Explosion In Virtual Reality Is Not Easy To Watch

Fun stuff aside, virtual reality has the power to show us things that we, fortunately, won’t experience otherwise. Take for example a nuclear explosion. A video of the same is doing the rounds on the internet and it’s not the easiest thing to watch.

Terrifying video shows a nuclear explosion in virtual reality

An uncomfortable, 1-minute-and-52-second-long video was posted on Reddit by u/GaddZuuks, and it has the internet shook. The video was posted with the caption, “Nuclear explosion in a virtual reality environment.”

The video shows a virtual reality environment, which includes a beach on a pleasant day just ahead of the nuclear bomb explosion. As soon as the explosion occurs in the video, blinding white fills the screen.

As expected, the whole place is ravaged in seconds and it appears as if a sandstorm has hit the area. The plants and other vegetation on the side appear to be uprooted and soon a huge cloud of smoke and dust is seen engulfing the sky. Towards the end of the video, the sky turns slightly purple in colour with a cloud of dust hanging in the air.

The video has resurfaced on the internet; the original video was posted on YouTube and other social media platforms a month ago. The clip, going viral again, left people in shock at the accurate representation of an explosion of this nature.

People were left shocked

Needless to say, the visuals left people horrified. “Frightening to even think about this happening,” a user wrote in response to the video.

Another user added, “Terrifying. The only kind of solace comes from knowing I’d die almost immediately.”

Other users pointed out the technicalities of the video. A user mentioned, “Technically it should’ve gone dark after the explosion because yous blind… but cool anyway.” To this, another added, “Yeah, that flash would be the last thing you ever saw.”

“Everything around would have also been blown away or incinerated, and a huge wave would have come and washed over the area,” wrote another.
