Researchers create robot resembling digital minister Taro Kono

A team led by Osaka University professor Hiroshi Ishiguro has created a humanoid robot resembling digital minister Taro Kono, part of research into whether social activities can be effectively conducted remotely.

At an event to unveil the robot on Friday, Kono voiced an affinity for the robot, joking that “with parliamentary approval, I would let him attend a Budget Committee meeting.”
