MPLI 2022: Schedule, results, format, teams, where to watch

The stage is set for the ONE Esports Mobile Legends Professional League Invitational 2022 (MPLI 2022).

Twenty teams from five regions will battle in the Land of Dawn to determine who’s the best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team in Southeast Asia this year.

In MPLI 2021, Indonesia’s ONIC Esports took home the crown after a stellar performance against the Philippines’ Blacklist International. Both teams will be competing again this year, and they’ll be met with new challengers and old foes.

Here is everything you need to know about MPLI 2022, including tournament format, participating teams, schedule, and where to watch.

What is MPLI 2022?

In the tournament, 20 teams from Indonesia, The Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia will compete from November 2 to 6.

The winner will take home the lion’s share of the US$100,000 prize pool and the title of best MLBB team in Southeast Asia.

MPLI 2022 format

MPL PH Season 10 champion Blacklist International, MPL SG Season 4 champion RSG SG, MPL ID Season 10 ONIC Esports, and MPL MY Season 10 champion Team HAQ have been given a bye to the quarterfinals in separate brackets.

The placement of the other 16 participating teams will be determined through the captain’s draw, livestreamed on October 28, Friday, at 7 p.m. GMT+8. A representative from the MPL champions will pick which teams they want to face by drafting them into their bracket.

All matches starting on November 2 will be played in a single elimination, best-of-three format, except for the grand final on November 6 which will a best-of-five series.

All matches from November 2 to 6 will start at 1 p.m. GMT+8. The official schedule has yet to be announced.

ONE Esports will also be holding a watch party in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore in the grand final on November 6.

The watch party starts at 1 p.m. GMT+8 and admission is free. However, each venue can only accommodate a maximum of 200 attendees. Fans can reserve their slot as early as now in the official MPLI 2022 page.
