Jaipur Mp Bohra Inspects Smart City Project, Questions Officials Over Tardy Work Progress | Jaipur News – Times of India

on Monday inspected work being done under Smart City project here and questioned officials why most of the projects were being delayed. Kunal Kumar, mission director of Smart Cities Mission-Urban from the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs, was also present with the MP.
The MP raised issues of lack of cleanliness, parking facilities and slow pace of work despite funds being spent to develop facilities. He said work needs to be done at Gangori Hospital to improve facilities for patients, which caters to over 1,000 patients daily in the


The MP instructed officers they should get used to work and fix all problems within 15 days and monitor the progress every Saturday.
The MP also visited the Chaugan Stadium where he inspected the work of constructing a ‘world class’ swimming pool and got angry seeing that work was not being done as per expectations. He also inspected the development of Talkatora Lake and said work should be done in


mode and boating facilities must also be started at the lake. After the inspection, the MP held a meeting with the CEO of Jaipur Smart City Limited and commissioners of JMC-Greater and JMC-Heritage where he pointed out the lack of coordination between the three institutions.

After the inspection, officials also said that Jaipur needs an area management plan in consultation with experts and representation from traffic police, city planning, municipal corporation, and district collector, for proper implementation of Smart City projects. At present, development work is taking place together and planning is needed to improve parking, cleanliness, traffic, markets and sports facilities. tnn
