Chancellor Li Announces UNO Business and Finance, Human Resources Updates | News – Omaha, Nebraska

Joanne Li, Ph.D., and CFA of the University of Nebraska, Omaha (UNO) today update a series of Office of Business and Finance to support the unit’s mission to provide thoughtful management of finance, infrastructure, and talent. Announced.

Jim Kam Appoints UNO’s Interim Deputy Prime Minister for Business and Finance

Jim Kam, who has been Deputy Prime Minister of Business and Finance at UNO since 2019, will be the Interim Deputy Prime Minister of Business and Finance at the University, which will come into effect soon. In this interim role, Cam oversees all budget, financial, operational and administrative services to assist the Prime Minister. The organizational units under Business and Finance include accounting services. Auxiliary Services; Budget; Business Systems Technology; Cashier and Student Accounts; Compliance; Facility Management and Planning; Grant Accounting; Personnel; UNO Public Security; and Risk Management Offices.

“Monitoring the business mission of an ambitious university like UNO requires outstanding organizational strength, problem-solving thinking, and excitement for the future,” says Li. “Jim Cam has all these qualities and is a great way to lead this finance department during the transition period.”

A national survey of full-time deputy prime ministers of business and finance is underway. The search committee is chaired by Michel Trawick, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, and is attended by representatives of the UNO, the Omaha Community, and the University of Nebraska System.

Prior to joining UNO, Kamm held senior management positions at a Nebraska-based bank and had a successful career in the financial services industry, including corporate banking. He is a UNO graduate with an MBA in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also completed the Stonyer Bank Graduate Program at Georgetown University and was a former part-time lecturer in the Faculty of Business Administration.

Stephen Kerrigan has been appointed Eileen Warren, UNO’s Vice President of Human Resources to focus on the role of UNMC

Stephen Kerrigan, currently Director of Labor Relations at the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), will take over the role of UNO’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Resources on December 6. He has been playing his current role in OPPD since 2015. He has over 20 years of professional experience in legal affairs, labor relations and human resources. Originally from Omaha, he graduated from the NU System and holds both a PhD and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Eileen Warren, who has been dual-appointed Vice President and Director of Human Resources at the UNO and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) since July 2020, will move away from that role and focus on UNMC’s duties. Li congratulated Kerrigan and thanked Warren for supporting UNO.
