Blacklist stays perfect after Week 4 of MPL Season 7

Nobody has yet to stop Blacklist International’s rampage in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 7.

After Week 4, the team stretched their winning streak to seven matches to stay on top of Group B with 18 points.

They first squeaked past Omega Esports, 2-1, countering the Diggie-feeding strategy in Game 3 behind Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario’s Granger, Jayson “ESON” Gerardo’s Rafaela, and Johnmar “Ohmyv33nus” Villaluna’s Popol and Kupa.

The trio negated the mobility and vision advantage of the Diggie-strategy, leading to a one-sided rubber match. It was also a revenge of sorts as Omega eliminated the then-higher seeded Blacklist in last season’s MPL PH playoffs.

Omega is a distant second after quickly recovering from the loss to Blacklist by sweeping Execretion and Work Auster Force back-to-back to improve to 14 points.

Nexplay Esports currently sits third in Group B with 10 points after eight matches while Execretion is fourth with nine points after just six matches so far. In danger of elimination is MPL newcomer Laus Playbook Esports, which has five points after seven matches.

Meanwhile in Group A, Work swept Aura PH to leapfrog their victims in the standings and finish with 16 points after Week 4. Aura PH is a close second with 14 points after suffering only their second series loss this season.

Reigning world champion Bren Esports had their three-game winning streak snapped by Onic but they managed to sweep Laus the next day to compile 12 points after eight matches.

Staying within striking distance with the leaders is fourth place Onic PH, who has 10 points in six matches. Cellar-dweller Cignal Ultra has yet to register a series win this season and has only scored three points in eight matches.

The league schedule has been affected by the recent lockdown in the Philippines, resulting in Cignal Ultra playing for four consecutive gaming days in Week 3 and two series in one gaming day in Week 4.
