16 Collier County Publix locations offer COVID-19 vaccine

Publix Super Market Charities makes $2.5 million donation to housing organizations

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – 16 Publix stores will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine in Collier County, Governor DeSantis announced in a press conference Wednesday.

DeSantis announced 56 additional Publix pharmacies that will be offering the COVID-19 vaccine throughout Florida.

The 16 stores that will offer the vaccine in Collier County are:

  • Marco Town Center 1089 N. Collier Blvd. Marco Island, FL
  • Shoppes at Hammock Cove 4370 Thomasson Drive Naples, FL
  • Berkshire Commons 7101 Radio Road Naples, FL
  • Riverchase Shopping Center 11200 Tamiami Trail North Naples, FL
  • Crossroads Market Shopping Center 5991 Pine Ridge Road Naples, FL
  • Pine Ridge Crossing Shopping Center 2310 Pine Ridge Road Naples, FL
  • Freedom Square 12663 Tamiami Trail E. Naples, FL
  • Pelican Strand 5624 Strand Blvd. Naples, FL
  • Naples Walk 2450 Vanderbilt Beach Road Naples, FL
  • The Shoppes at Pebblebrook 15265 Collier Blvd. Naples, FL
  • Naples Lakes Village Center 8585 Collier Blvd. Naples, FL
  • Brooks Village 12975 Collier Blvd. Naples, FL
  • Marketplace at Pelican Bay 8833 North Tamiami Trail Naples, FL

Collier County was among four other counties the Publix COVID-19 initiative is expanding to including:

  • 14 St. Johns County
  • 4 Flagler County
  • 22 Volusia County

DeSantis announced Tuesday 26 additional Publix locations throughout the Florida Panhandle that are expected to begin vaccinations on Jan. 14.

Those counties include:

  • 6 in Escambia County
  • 5 in Santa Rosa County
  • 5 in Bay County
  • 3 in Walton County
  • 7 in Okaloosa County

Vaccines are designated for those 65 and older.

The initial pilot program launched last week at 22 stores divided between Hernando, Citrus and Marion counties. Now, over 100 stores will be administering the Moderna vaccine.

Vaccinations are provided at no cost. Customers with insurance will need to bring their insurance card, and customers without insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number, according to Publix.

Appointments can be made using the online reservation system beginning Jan. 13. Vaccinations will start on Thursday Jan 14.

Vaccines will be given only to those who are eligible to receive the vaccine and have an appointment while supplies last, Publix officials said.
